Our Attorney

In 1974, Mr. Hurt graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with his Bachelor of Science degree. After spending several years in Charleston, SC, Mr. Hurt enrolled at Nova University Law School in 1983 and graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1987. Following graduation, he practiced law as a sole practitioner in Jacksonville, FL.

Mr. Hurt has experience in many areas of law: Chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcy, criminal law (DUI, traffic, felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile), domestic and family law, probate and guardianship, estate planning, civil litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, real estate (foreclosures, deeds, agreements, and closings), collection, corporations, and Social Security Disability.

In practice since 1987, Mr. Hurt has had experience with numerous jury trials for various criminal and civil cases in circuits, counties, and federal courts. He has also litigated numerous non-jury trials regarding a variety of cases, tried cases through the administrative process, and negotiated settlements in various cases through both court-ordered mediation and private mediation.

Mr. Hurt started practicing as a public defender for two years prior to going into private practice. Currently, he acts as the Special Magistrate in Green Cove Springs for Code Enforcement and Red Light Hearings. He was a member of Green Cove Springs Charter Review Committee and is authorized to practice law in the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, Circuit and County Court in Florida, and the Supreme Court of Florida.
